i'm weird
i saw this meme somewhere yesterday (i'm sorry i forget where!)...
six weird things about me
- i was born with an extra earlobe.
- i'm an arbitrarily picky eater (lima beans? yum! asparagus? yuck. calamari? yum! oysters? yuck. lox? yum! capers? yuck. you get the idea).
- i yawn when i'm nervous (like, at job interviews. yikes.)
- i don't bite my nails but i do rip my cuticles. i have really ugly thumb nails because of this. and i unconsciously hide them around people.
- i love 70s power ballads.
- i'm a cynic about most things but kinda believe in astrology.
and i used to think i was weird because i love thrifting + vintage fabric + trim + kitchenware + kids' books + old toys + and all sorts of random stuff but then i found friends who like the same stuff and then i found all you guys (who i also now count as friends) and now i don't feel so weird :). so thanks. and have a great weekend!

My cousin was once dating a girl and someone asked if she was weird. He wisely replied "...weird in all of the good sort of ways." So now I use that phrase all of the time.

Brown lima beans are good, but green ones are only sometimes good. And I do the cuticle thing, too -- the ripping and the hiding. I've been doing that since pre-adolescence. Oddly, I stopped doing it when I was pregnant and then started back up again after the birth. Weird.

i don't think you're weird. now i have the scene from 16 candles in my head: "i don't think your a dork. mike thinks i'm a dork. mike is a dork." so maybe I'm the weird one, cuz i have memorized loads of 80s movies.

My mom used to say that "if they aren't weird, we dont want them" (she said this about boyfriends and friends). She was right! I heart weird, lima beans, and all that that makes people special and who they are.

Well, lump me into the weird pile too--I adore all that stuff!
I used to not like my toes at all, so I would always curl them under whenever I was barefoot and people were around. Now, I like my toes...but my family still catches me hiding them--
