i'm trying not to overdo it with the xmas decorations but i could not resist the lure of the fabric wreath. the fabric buttons i used here i made last spring and i have to say they are a complete and utter bitch to make. unless i am missing something and if so please let me know because i was bummed and swearing a lot when i made them. the wreath, however, is super easy-peasy. grab a foam wreath. cover w/fabric. embellish.
Damn on the buttons, cause they're so cute! I've never made them before. The whole wreath is fabulous.

Soooo cute! Now I want to make one! Do you just use thumb tacks to secure the fabric behind?
Fabric buttons-- I just use the kits from Joann's. Is that cheating? So easy.

Exactly which aspect of button making did you find bitchy? Cutting out the right size circle of fabric? Putting it all together?
Like the other Sarah, I just use the kits (like this one with the buttons and the assembly thingy, http://www.dritz.com/brands/showcase/details.php?ITEM_NUM=14-45) you find at the fabric store and I've always found it easy-peasy. Maybe Sarahs who spell their names with an "h" are just fabric covered button geniuses?

i use the button kits, too, but don't find it easy at all. not a bit.
but the wreath, i think i can get behind that. i really like it, meg. the fabrics are wonderful.

Love the fabric. I made one too the other day for my front door and now can't stop making them for Christmas gifts! Lovely!

Oh, the lure of the fabric wreath! I love the holly on yours, and the ones you linked to are gorgeous. I can see wreaths for all seasons coming out of this...
