while painting my front entryway (sometimes called a vestibule, though rarely by me), i decided to rip out the closet pole and shelf (i took out a sizable chunk of plaster, too. oops.). i had visions of a more organized space, which included a small dresser for hats, mittens, scarves, tote bags, etc. and then lots of hooks for all the rest of our stuff. john doesn't love the dresser idea, but he's a good sport.
the shoe organizer you see on the right i got from sundance catalog, it's smaller than i pictured (even though i knew the dimensions). i had a little spinal-tap-stonehenge moment when it arrived. i'm over it.
and yes, i jumped on the "keep calm and carry on" bandwagon. i could not resist.
our downstairs has no closets so this is "it" as far as keeping all our outside junk tidy. okay....we do have a pantry in the back, but that is were i indiscriminately throw crap i don't feel like dealing with. everyone needs a space like that, right? i'll have to take a picture of that for my next installment of "ugly corners". it's impressive.
